3 acres of woodland garden with tumbling burn – created in a small glen over 40 years. At an altitude of 450 feet and 2 weeks behind the coast, we have a shorter growing season.
Snowdrops, followed by early rhododendrons, masses of daffodils in many varieties, bluebells, wild flowers and azaleas, primulas and irises. A productive veg patch and tunnel feed the gardener and family!
Sensible shoes recommended – main path gravelled but some paths narrow and steep.
A816 Kilmelford. Turn uphill between shop and church, signed Lochavich 6 . Steep and twisty road, check for passing places. Maolachy is 4 miles from village. Cross 3 county cattle grids; after 3rd ignore forestry tracks to left and right. Continue downhill towards Loch Avich. Maolachy is up on left, (1st house after Kilmelford). Ignore SATNAV
