The mill and the woodland garden have been in the Campbell Byatt family since 1829. The garden was landscaped and planted in the 1950s by Sybil Campbell OBE, with Percy Cane the garden designer. It lies along a cleft formed by the burn with spectacular waterfall at the top. Mature species and hybrid rhododendrons, magnolias, azaleas and other shrubs are under a canopy of mostly native trees.
Waterproof shoes are recommended. Uphill walking.
